Frequently asked questions

What is SportsEQ, and how is it different from a regular sports academy?

SportsEQ is not just about sports; it’s a unique program that uses football to teach emotional intelligence, resilience, and social skills. Unlike regular sports academies that focus primarily on physical abilities, our curriculum integrates emotional and social development through structured activities and emotional assessments. Children learn to handle stress, communicate better, build self-confidence, and develop leadership qualities that extend beyond the field and into their daily lives.

How do SportsEQ programs benefit my child’s mental and emotional well-being?

Our programs are designed to help children recognize and manage their emotions, build resilience, and form healthy social connections—all crucial for mental well-being. Studies show that team sports improve mental health by fostering connections and reducing anxiety. Through football, kids learn to cope with frustration, celebrate successes, and support teammates, ultimately gaining skills that improve their confidence and emotional strength both on and off the field.

Are the programs suitable for children with little to no football experience?

Absolutely! SportsEQ welcomes children of all skill levels. Our focus is on emotional growth, teamwork, and social skills, so prior experience with football is not required. Our coaches adapt drills and activities to accommodate all levels, ensuring every child feels comfortable, supported, and engaged. Whether they’re beginners or experienced players, each child learns valuable life skills through our program.

How does the bilingual aspect work in SportsEQ’s programs?

All SportsEQ programs are offered in both English and Spanish to ensure accessibility for local and international participants. Our bilingual approach allows children to learn and interact comfortably in their preferred language while also providing an inclusive environment. It also supports language development, especially for children learning a second language, as they engage in team activities and communication.

What age groups are your programs designed for, and how are they tailored to different age levels?

SportsEQ offers tailored programs for children and teenagers, ages 3 to 16. But we deliver educational content and sessions with adults and parents too. Our curriculum is divided into key stages, with activities and lessons adjusted to meet the developmental needs of each age group. Younger children focus on emotional awareness and teamwork through play-based learning, while older kids engage in more structured activities that build leadership, resilience, and advanced emotional skills. Each age group has specific emotional intelligence milestones and progress tracking to ensure age-appropriate growth.
